Card five · Separate advice from law
What did the advisory vote actually do?
No. The committee advised the FDA; it did not rewrite the rule.
Short answer
On December 4, 2024, the FDA advisory committee voted against adding every reviewed form of CJC-1295 to the pharmacy-compounding list.
The committee voted separately on five chemical versions of CJC-1295, with and without DAC; four of those votes were 13 to 0 against, and the fifth was 12 to 1 against.
Why the vote is not the last step
A committee vote is only advice; to change the official list, the FDA must go through a formal rule-writing process that invites public comment.
As of late September 2026, the FDA had published no final rule for CJC-1295.
What to do with a headline
When a headline says a committee “decided,” check whether the FDA later published a final rule in the Federal Register, the government’s daily journal of new rules. For CJC-1295, none had appeared by late September 2026.
